Accounting built around your business.

KJA Sukartha & Rekan is an accounting firm in Denpasar, Bali. Every client works with a dedicated accountant who truly knows their business, backed by partners who never stop updating their craft — and who look at a company as a whole, with solutions built to last.

KJA Sukartha & Rekan has served businesses and families in Bali since 1992. The firm began as a family practice, founded by Made Sukartha on a simple conviction: careful accounting, done within the law and documented properly, protects what people build.

His son D’yan joined as partner after working at KPMG, and today the two lead a team that has grown the same way the client base has — steadily, and almost entirely through personal recommendation.

Strong accounting is the foundation. Everything else is built on it.

Many firms treat tax as the product and accounting as an afterthought. We work the other way around: if the accounting is sound, the tax reporting, the year-end work, and the difficult conversations all become manageable. Like a house — if the foundation is solid, you can build.

And because of where we come from, we hold ourselves to a simple discipline: prepare for everything, document everything. When the tax authority asks a question, our clients answer it with records, not guesses.

A dedicated accountant, whenever you need them.

Every client has one person in charge — and each of our accountants is responsible for at most three clients, usually two. That is what makes the service personal: someone who knows the business, visits as often as the work requires (for some clients, twice a week), and answers questions right away rather than at the next deadline. The shape of the engagement follows your needs, not a fixed package.

Reporting that builds through the year.

Good accounting is not reconstructed at year-end — it is built continuously. We advise on the accounting process, verify the monthly reports, and file tax reporting in step with the financials. By the time the annual deadlines arrive, the annual report, annual tax, and audit trail have already built themselves.

When the rules change, you already know.

Regulations and technology do not stand still, and neither do we. Because we are involved every month, a January change is reflected in the January report — not discovered when the annual filing comes due.

The whole business, for the long term.

We look at a company as a whole and aim for solutions that last. Sometimes that means working within the system you already have; sometimes it means implementing a new one together, so the transition is graceful rather than disruptive.

“Your financials are like your kitchen. In Indonesia, a guest you don’t yet trust stays in the living room. Only when you trust someone do you let them into the kitchen — where they can see what you’re cooking, what you’re eating. We never forget what it means when a client lets us in.”

— D’yan Sukartha, Senior Partner

Almost all of our clients came to us through friends and family, and almost all have stayed.

Relationships here are measured in years, and they tend to grow: several of our former team members now lead the accounting and tax departments of our clients.
